Wednesday KCCA vs AS Kigali (St Mary's Stadium, 3pm)

AS Kigali central defender, Emery Bayisenge has urged his teammates to defend in numbers during the return leg of the CAF Confederation cup tie against Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) on Wednesday, January 6 at St Mary's Stadium, Kampala.

The City of Kigali side hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg which they earned after KCCA failed to raise enough players to play the first leg last month. KCCA had nine players including their head coach testing positive for Covid-19.

Bayisenge who partners Hassan Karera or Latif Bishira in defence says the whole team including strikers should track back and defend because the hosts will attack from the first minute to try and even the aggregate.

"KCCA will want to score goals from the start of the match, that is why we need to be disciplined in the way we defend and that applies to the whole team,” the 26-year-old defender said

Eric Nshimiyimana has been bolstered by the return of forwards Félix Ndekwe and Abdallah Sudi after spending two months out with injuries.

AS Kigali traveled to Kampala on Saturday, January 2 and are staying at the Protea Hotel by Marriott and trained at St. Mary’s stadium on Monday.

AS Kigali advanced to the first round of the competition on the away goals rule after eliminating Orapa of Botswana.
