Rwf.1.4 million to shelter Genocide survivors

NGOMA — Residents of Ngoma district yesterday raised Rwf.1,425,000 towards the resettlement of  vulnerable Genocide survivors in the district.

The fundraising was held at Bambino super city in Kabuga, Kicukiro district. The fundraising was part of a meeting of the Ngoma district residents association.

This meeting the third of its kind is called to promote business opportunities existent in the district. Part of the social responsibility component of the meeting also raised five cows and six bags of cement that will be handed over  to children survivors living on their own in Rukira sector.

This brings the amount raised to Rwf6,765,000 since the district launched a campaign to shelter the vulnerable survivors late last month. Close to Rwf.94m is required to buy iron sheets to resettle all the 425 Genocide survivors in the district.
