Christmas is just a few hours away and, although the usual festive mood has been overshadowed by concerns around the continued threat of Covid-19 pandemic, Rwandans seem ready to celebrate nonetheless. At least to an extent.

Local Afro-pop singer Alyn Sano is one of those who have come forward to help Rwandans celebrate the season with a Christmas carol dubbed ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’, complete with a video.

Everything about the video is Christmas themed, from the indulgent tone, artistic pianist, the soothing body movements, to the creative flamboyant red and white colors of her costume, not to forget the Christmas adornment. The song is a reminder that it is actually Christmas.

The video was shot and directed by music producer Meddy Saleh, from a home, which was designed just to fit in the theme of the song, while the audio was produced by Sano Panda.

The original ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ is a Christmas carol that has been attributed to various authors, including John Francis Wade, among others and has been made cover by different choirs and artistes.

According to Sano, the cover of the song, for her, is a way to give a Christmas gift to her loyal fans, who stood with her during this year of her development.

The video was uploaded on her YouTube Channel on Wednesday, December 23.

She also shared that although Christmas is a holiday meant to relax, eat and relish with family, the songbird will be in the studio working on her new song (Inshuti) that is expected to be out before the year ends.

The new song, she said, will talk about true friendship.

For some artistes, 2020 has been the worst year as they struggled to produce good music, however, to Sano, this seemed like a good year for her, as she has managed to release seven songs, so far.

The songster mentioned that she could release about eight songs, some of which include; "Kontorola”, "Kontorola Remix” with Femi One, "I Needed You” featuring Jumper Keelu, "Perimana”, "Joni”, among others.
