Rwanda’s top rally drivers, Davite Giancarlo and Olivier Costa will be coming against the region’s best as they will be taking part in the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) East African Rally Challenge that rolls off with the KCB Safari Rally on April 3-5 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) president Dismas Kayibanda confirmed the development yesterday. Kayibanda said that Rwanda will be represented by 2008 national rally championship Davite Giancarlo and Olivier Costa.
"The pair will represent Rwanda in the KCB challenge which is the opener of the KCB East African Rally Challenge,” Kayibanda said.
The pair featured in the first of the African Rally Championship held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Costa finished third in the championship behind champion and Zimbabwe’s James Whyte and Uganda’s Emmanuel Kato while Giancarlo never finished the race after his car was involved in an accident.
Giancarlo will be navigated by Slyvie Verdine while Costa will be navigated by Paul Paganin in Subaru Imprezas N12 series respectively.
Sixty six drivers have so far confirmed their participation in the series which will also feature the KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally on May 1-3 and KCB Rwanda Mountain Gorilla ally due on September 17-19.
Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa have each sent in one entry while Uganda has submitted three entries while the remaining drivers are from Kenya.
