As Kigali 3-0 Rubavu
APR’s fine form continued over the weekend, when they ran riot over Bugesera at camp Kigali on Sunday afternoon.
A brace from Anatholie Nirere and more goals from Hamida Murekatete, Mujawamariya Consolee, and Eméryne Izabayo were enough to sink thapless Bugesera side.
But that was not enough for them to overtake Aspeg at the top of the league table, as the league leaders saw off Rayon sport 3-0; their fourth consecutive win.
Aspeg are still top of the league with 12 points, A.P.R is second with 11 points, while AS Kigali is in third position with also 11 points, but with an inferior goal difference.
Aspeg captain Theogne Mukamusonera is confident of her club’s chances to win the championship.
"We have to continue winning our matches and avoid any complacency, and hope that A.P.R drop points,” Mukamusonera said.
Meanwhile A.P.R will not play this weekend because Gakenke club pulled out of the championship due to financial difficulties. They (A.P.R) will be given three points.
