KCB confirmed Mt. Gorilla Rally sponsors

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has been confirmed sponsors of the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally set for September 17-29. Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) president Dismas Kayibanda told Times Sport yesterday that Kenya Commercial Bank will bankroll this year’s event with the sponsorship package set to be unveiled a week after.

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has been confirmed sponsors of the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally set for September 17-29.

Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) president Dismas Kayibanda told Times Sport yesterday that Kenya Commercial Bank will bankroll this year’s event with the sponsorship package set to be unveiled a week after.

"I am happy to announce that KCB has confirmed its sponsorship to this year’s Mountain Gorilla Rally.

"We are finalizing contract terms next week and after that it’s when the sponsorship package will be unveiled,” Kayibanda said.

Meanwhile, Rwanda has entered Kenya Commercial Bank East Africa Rally Challenge set to be flagged off on April 3-5 in Nairobi.

Rwanda joins Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in hosting the regional event and they are expected to be represented by two drivers in the series.

The second edition of the event will see participants feature in the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally due on May 1-3 in Kampala, and the new Mountain Gorilla Rally of Rwanda.

Rwanda was represented by Kayibanda and 2008 national rally champion Davite Giancarlo at the launch held over the weekend in Nairobi, Kenya.

"I am impressed and happy that the continent’s leading rally sponsor KCB is going to bankroll our top motor rallying event this year.

"We (RAC) will do everything possible to make KCB Mountain Gorilla Rally a successfully and even maintain a lasting impression with our new sponsors who are to support the development of the sport in the country,” Kayibanda added.

KCB has continued its flagship sponsorships for KCB Kenya Safari Rally, KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally and the KCB/Kenya National Cross Country Championships.

KCB is aimed at achieving its vision of being "the Best Bank in the Region” by providing a good platform for both subsidiaries to increase the brand awareness, visibility and support for the exciting sport.

Last year, the inaugural series included the KCB Safari Rally, the KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally and the Rally of Tanzania. 

This year’s edition will feature the KCB Safari Rally, the KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally and the KCB Mountain Gorilla Rally of Rwanda.
