I support the Pope

Editor,
I am in full support of the papal view that condoms have done more harm than good on HIV in Africa. Many Africans cannot use condoms well. They also wont to entrust their lives to plain rubber.

While the pope has been heavily criticised, I think his critics are misinformed. Africans are very religious and value based.

Condom presence is a clear  licence to have sex with anyone. I visited one of the banks in Kampala and saw condoms there; in the toilets of all places. Because having sex outside marriage is very stupid even if one used a condom.

I have chosen to abstain from sex since 2001 till I get married and I have never collapsed because of my decision.

"Yes We Can” abstain. Even the Brazilian footballer, Kaka of AC Milan, abstained from sex until marriage. I suggest we do the same.
