Imbuto Foundation has inked an agreement with IHS Rwanda Limited to provide scholarships for 150 brilliant students from vulnerable backgrounds.
Worth $45,000, the scholarship will be awarded as $300 to each student in a boarding school, for the academic year of 2020-2021.
Signed on Friday, November 20, the sponsorship is part of the ‘Edified Generation,’ a scholarship programme initiated by Imbuto Foundation in 2002 to financially support bright students from economically vulnerable backgrounds in their pursuit of education.
Since 2015, IHS has provided 400 scholarships under this partnership with Imbuto Foundation.
To date, under the Edified Generation Programme 9,601 annual scholarships have been provided to both male and female secondary students.
Currently, the programme supports up to 694 secondary students from 102 secondary schools across the country.
Through an annual holiday camp, Edified Generation also equips scholars with life skills to complement their education, helping them to become integral citizens.
