Thierry Hitimana has been sacked by Tanzania topflight league side Namungo FC after a poor run of results.
Hitimana, a former midfielder for local side Rayon Sports, was fired on Wednesday for what the club called ‘poor performance’ in the ongoing 2020/21 league season.
After ten matches into the new campaign, Namungo, who finished fourth last season, have only managed to pick up 14 points.
The Rwandan tactician, however, against all odds, guided Namungo to the final of the Tanzania FA Cup, a milestone that automatically secured the club a ticket to this season’s Caf Confederation Cup.
They will start their continental football quest against South Sudan’s Al Rabita on the weekend of November 27-29 at Azam Complex Stadium in Tanzania.
According to reports in local media, Hitimana will be replaced by Moroccan coach Hemed Morocco.
