As Rwandans mark the 30th anniversary of Liberation Day, it is crucial to acknowledge the strides the country has taken in becoming the foremost ICT Hub in Africa.

AOS Ltd is a key player in this transformation, developing and operating crucial infrastructures that have advanced the digitalisation of the economy.

AOS Ltd is a leading Cloud Data Centre serving Government institutions as well as private entities and individuals. Since 2014 when the operation started, AOS has continuously expanded its service scope beyond data centre services.

Now, AOS offers its own Cloud Native applications to public and private entities and develops business applications covering various sectors, including justice and public procurement. Also, AOS has been one of the active partners of the Government in integrating and deploying various and huge scale ICT systems.

AOS has played a key role in helping both the public and private sectors in Rwanda benefit from new technologies by providing cloud services and advanced IT systems.

Among their notable projects is the Public Surveillance CCTV and Vehicle Enforcement System-Phase I, which has greatly improved crime prevention and detection, thereby enhancing the safety and security of local communities.

It has also supported the Government’s paperless economy initiative by developing an e-procurement system called ‘Umucyo’.

This system has greatly improved the transparency and ease of managing public tenders, advancing the country’s digital transformation efforts.

Provision of high-quality data management services, system integration, and construction and expansion of data centres have enabled the country to manage its data independently.

AOS has also focused on training local talent in software development, cloud platforms, system integration, and cybersecurity, allowing Rwandan engineers to handle complex projects without needing outside help.

Additionally, AOS has significantly contributed to job creation, especially for the youth and women in Rwanda. The company has grown by 15 per cent over the past few years, employing numerous expert engineers for key projects. As part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, AOS has supported vulnerable citizens in the community.
