Seven people tested positive for Covid-19 in Rwanda on Monday, October 26.

Of the new cases, four were identified in Kigali while the rest came from Burera, Muhanga and Musanze districts, with a case each.

On the same day, 18 people recovered from the pandemic.

So far, according to the Ministry of Health, 96 percent of all people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Rwanda have recovered.

The latest results were obtained from 1,736 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda by mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 5,073 Covid-19 cases of whom 4, 848 have already recovered.

Concerning testing, in total, Rwanda has carried out 548,938 tests of Covid-19.

The country’s Covid-19 death toll remains at 34 people so far, majority of whom, according to the Ministry of Health, had non-communicable diseases.

Last week, Rwanda was listed among the countries on which Covid-19 travel restrictions into the EU territory should be gradually lifted, meaning the country's effort to combat the virus are paying off.
