Rwandan topflight side Etincelles have approached representatives of their former player Prince Jerome Iniesta in an attempt to get their transfer ban lifted.
The Rubavu-based club is since January restricted from buying any players for failure to pay $7020 (Rwf 8,850,000) worth of signing on fee owed to the Ghanaian midfielder after he and his representatives dragged the club to world football governing body, FIFA, over breach of contract.

Times Sport has learnt that Etincelles have officially written to the player's representatives seeking pardon as they want to settle the case amicably.
"We write to plead for pardon, we are a small club and and we can't pay that amount instantly, but we hope to pay in instalments," part of the club's letter reads.
Meanwhile, the club has reportedly sacked coach Rajab Bizumuremyi who is said to be the root cause of Etincelles' problems when he decided against including Iniesta in his squad for the 2023/24 season, yet he had performed well in the previous season.
Etincelles cannot sign any player, foreign or local, until they pay their dues to Iniesta.
