The Nyabugogo Bridge has seen a series of phone thefts, money and other things especially during the evening hours. At that same spot there are traffic lights and traffic officers though they have done nothing to stop the thefts.

At times the thieves, who are usually street children, harm pedestrians when they try to protect their property. These thugs are equipped with razor blades and knives. The fact that these thieves are always in big crowds makes resistance a problem.

Recently The New Times published an article about them - we haven’t yet seen any changes made and this has put our lives in danger.

The police should seek an immediate remedy otherwise we shall end up losing our lives.
