Kumasi Asante Kotoko captain Richmond Lamptey has joined Rwandan champions APR on a two-year deal.
Lamptey, 27, passed his medical on Friday, June 28, before putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.
Times Sport understands that APR paid Lamptey a staggering $120,000 (Rwf 159 million) worth of signing on fee as he joined the army side as a free agent after declining Kotoko's contract offer over extension.
The Feyenoord Academy product has been among the best players in the Ghana Premier League for the past three seasons and was part of the Black Stars team which participated in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d'Ivoire.
A left footed player, with flair, footwork, and great passing ability, Lamptey mainly plays as a number 10, but he can also operate as a number 8.
One of his trademark displays his long-range strikes which he can score from almost 40 yards.
