While Gisenyi will be occupied by a host Rwanda’s premier DJs Toxxyk and Marnaud who are both hosting local and international performers at their respective show across the shores of Lake Kivu, Tanzanian disc jockey Ally Simba alias DJ Ally B or Asumanii will be entertaining Kigalians over the weekend.
The disc jockey, one of the best in Tanzania, return in Kigali six months after headlining the New Year party at Maison Noire, Kicukiro. However, he couldn’t deliver the best of his usual entertainment from his DJ set as he wished after the show was halted.
He is now looking to take the same spot down on Saturday, June 29, with some of the hottest jams leading the charts in East Africa and beyond.
"When he last performed here, we couldn’t perform for Rwandans to the fullest because of some unexpected disruptions and we decided to bring him back because people have been asking of him,” one of the organisers told The New Times.
"We know it’s going to be a busy weekend in Rubavu but, with Assumanii him back here, Kigali isn’t going to be boring either. He’s more than just a DJ. He is a performer which makes most his shows unique and more entertaining,” he added.
DJ Ally B is mostly known for his vibe and whistles, which are usually thrown in when his hands are playing on the DJ deck. He is also recognized by words like ‘Asumani’ and ‘Nasemaje’ which he often uses during his car karaokes, which are conducted either solo or with celebrities.
Entrance to the show is at Rwf 10,000 at the gate.
