Rotary Club Kigali Karisimbi has vowed to make more space for young people to participate in the different club activities.

Charter President Kelechi Anyanwu stated this on Friday night adding that young people are the driving force for change and should take the initiative in community-based projects that engage and positively impact lives.

In order to develop the next generation of leaders through youth mentorship and engagement, with an emphasis on developing leadership skills, expanding education, and learning the value of service, the club organized a one-day event at Saint Paul Center under the theme "Educating the hearts of our youth."

"We (young people) have more time and energy to learn and give back to our communities," said a Kigali International Community School student

Rotary Club Kigali Karisimbi donated books and provided support by paying mutuelle for 200 people from Nyarugenge district at the same event that brought together members of the young club, parents, and other community members.

Kelechi, who encouraged more young people to join, also inducted seven new members into the club during the same event. They vowed to be actively involved in meeting societal needs through personal engagement, in partnership with the private sector, and collaboration with Government agencies.

Rotary Club of Kigali Karisimbi was recently chartered and welcomed to the Rotary family in March 2022.
