Independent parliamentary candidate Janvier Nsengiyumva has promised Musanze and Burera residents that he will advocate for tax cuts so as to ease the cost of living, if he gets a seat in parliament.
Nsengiyumva’s campaign promises also involve advocating of expanding the tax base so as to enable the government to generate more revenue for national development initiatives.
Advocacy for tax cuts is one of the repeated pledges he stressed while addressing hundreds of Musanze residents in the town center and Burera border community on Wednesday, June 26, during his campaign trail in the northern region.
"If you support me, I will be one of the parliamentary members who will introduce a bill that reduces taxes so as to increase the number of taxpayers. The more taxpayers are increased the more revenues the country generates for national development,” he said.
"This will improve the livelihoods of Rwandans and scale up the availability of goods on the market then life becomes easy,” he added.
