GICUMBI — At least 16 entrepreneurs selected from across the country were last Friday awarded certificates after completing a ten –day training in entrepreneurship development.
The training was organised by the Centre for Promotion and Innovation of Agricultural Activities (CEPINA). The group included ten women and six men.
Closing the training, Straton Ndikubwayo, a member of the East African Legislative Assembly, urged the participants to disseminate the acquired knowledge to others within their localities.
"Training in entrepreneurship development is the only way to accelerate economic development and eradicate poverty in the Rwandan society,” said Ndikubwayo.
Dieudonne Kabanda, one of the facilitators of the training said participants were briefed on how to develop, strengthen and stabilise entrepreneurial competency.
"Innovation, quality improvement, basic accounting, marketing and business planing are among the key subjects taught during the training,” said Kabanda.
The participants were drawn from milk and juice cooperative societies and passion fruits farmers.
