Rwanda's daily Covid-19 cases fall under 50 for the first time in nine days

The number of positive cases of coronavirus continues to decrease after Rwanda, on Thursday, August 27, reported 47 new cases, the lowest since nine days ago. 

The numbers reduced by nearly half of those recorded on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health also identified eight new cases in Rusizi District and one more case in Musanze.

The numbers mean Rwanda's Covid-19 cases have risen to 3,672, including 1,794 active cases and 15 deaths.

However, of 4,597 tests taken on Thursday, no death was registered.

Recoveries also went up to 1,863 after 53 patients recovered from the pandemic.

According to the Ministry's updates, Rwanda’s Covid-19 mortality rate now stands at 0.4 per cent while the positivity rate is at 1 per cent.

Amidst the growing number of cases of Covid-19, the Government on Wednesday directed that curfew hours be brought forward to start at 7 p.m, across the country.
