Covid-19: Total positive cases in Rwanda hit 2,200

Rwanda on Thursday, August 13, reported 11 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the tally of positive cases to 2,200 since mid-March.

According to the Ministry of Health, of the new cases, nine were detected in Kigali among contacts of positive cases.

Also, one case was reported from Nyamasheke District while another case was confirmed in Rubavu District.

On the same day, the country recorded 34 new recoveries.

The results were obtained from 4,756 sample tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

In total, Rwanda has carried out 319,295 Covid-19 sample tests and reported 1,558 recovered cases.

The country's Covid-19 death remain at eight people.
