The midfielder joined AE Karaiskakis Artas on a one-year deal
Rwanda international Steve Rubanguka has urged younger players to shun those who discourage them but rather strive to move forward following his move to AE Karaiskakis Artas over the weekend.
The midfielder joined the Greek second division side on a one-year deal.
Rubanguka was playing for K. Rupel Boom Fc in Belgium’s third tier league.
"I am proud to have signed in Greece. It's not easy, people will always tell you that you can't, that you shouldn't do it, that you don't have the skills and that you are not at that level (...)
I urge you to look at where your strengths are and strive to move forward,” Rubanguka posted on his Instagram page after completing his move on Saturday.
Rubanguka, 23, was born in Rwanda, but moved to Europe when he was 8-year old.
His first call-up to the national team 'Amavubi' was in 2018 when Rwanda played Central African Republic, but he was an unused substitute the entire match.
Last year, Amavubi head coach Vincent Mashami described him as one of the most thoughtful players.
