Suicide does not occur at the spur of the moment, it is a gradual process. Many times it is caused by depression. According to Kevin Caruso’s article related to causes of suicide, over 90 percent of people who die by suicide have a mental illness at the time of their death.

And the most common mental illness is depression. Untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide. There are many other factors that cause one to commit suicide, among them are, deaths of loved ones, divorce, separation, and break-up of a relationship.

One can be tempted to commit suicide because of loss of a job, house, or money, a grave illness and accident. A chronic physical pain and intense emotional pain can also be a root cause of committing suicide. 

It is not a question of doubt that suicide is devastating in the world. Even though cases of suicide may not be rampant in Rwanda; it is true that for one reason or the other some people do commit it. 

Today, I’d like to dispel thoughts of suicide from those who might harbour them. Yeah you may convince me that am passing through a lot of grief, pain and anxiety and so life is meaningless to you and the only solution is to kill yourself.

My friends who told you that God has failed to solve that condition you are in? If God knows all about you and is willing to help you, why do you then cheat your forthcoming blessing by taking away your dear life?

Phil Donahue says that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. My dear friend thinking of killing yourself, believe me you what you are passing through is just temporary.

There’s no need of taking away your life permanently yet time to forget all that stress and depression would knock at your door some day.       

I would love to give as many reasons why one should not go for suicide if things go wrong but for paper limit allow me conclude with Ernest Hemingway Quote.

He says, "The real reason for not committing suicide is because you always know how swell life gets again after the hell is over.”

There’s always a big hope, happiness and joy after all the misery and misfortune is over. Keep hoping and believing in positivism, it will keep you moving when things seem not going your way. Hope for that to be time after the hell.
