Besides his life on the screens that he is well known for, actor Yvan Film’s weekend is very occupied even when he is not busy in set acting or directing his own movies.
Born Aboubakar Iradukunda, Yvan Film is mostly known for his roles in popular TV series like ‘Bamenya’ and ‘The Bishop’s Family.’
He holds the Best Actor of the year award that he received from Rwanda International Movie Awards in 2023.
But how does he spend his best weekend when he’s is not on a movie set?
The New Times had a chat with him and this is what he had to say.
On Saturday I wake up at 8:30am and I take 30 minutes to do my bed and clean. Then between exactly 9:00am and 11:00am that is when I work out from home, when I finish I take a shower and get ready to go check on operations of Hoxaho Travel Agency, my business in town.
One of those weekends where I don’t have shooting I stay at work up until 6pm. Most of the time, I dedicate my day time to work and, afterwards, I head directly to the gym, the part I like the most. As someone who once had 95 kilograms and now at 84 kilograms within two months, the gym has become my favorite and most enjoyable place. I enjoy seeing myself working out.
I leave the gym at 9:30pm and head straight home for a shower and get ready for bed.
My Sunday is more relaxed with just a home workout and some home cleaning of course as a man. That is when I take a deep and long chat with my girlfriend. When I’m done I pay my mother a visit because I miss her almost every time.
Then, after that, it’s time for myself and friends...we go out and chill for some hours enjoying each other’s company. When I am done with that, I go home and get ready to sleep early so I can wake up early on Monday.
Usually my life routine seems repeatedly every day, a discipline that I nurtured. I focus on things that brings joy to me which is quality time with my family, seeing myself in front of a camera and listening to music while working out. I’m most of the time regarded as a boring person because I don’t drink but I am useful when it’s time to go home, my friends turn me into a taxi driver and it always annoys me.
