Editor,

The recent killing of Michael Shyaka, a resident of Gasabo district in cold blood, makes me feel that security organs and particularly the police are not doing enough to stop killers from ending people’s lives prematurely.

The death of this man follows another of a businesswoman, who was also short dead in similar circumstances. All these fateful occasions happen during the day (early in the morning), when the police is supposed to be actively involved in controlling crime.

My big worry is when the killers start killing at night, while not even the civilians will be able to shout and probably scare away the killers.

I therefore, call upon the police and other security organs to be more vigilant and save people’s lives.
