Rukundo is attracting interest from Rayon Sports.

Amagaju FC has notified Rayon Sports that a payment of Rwf 20 million is required to secure the services of midfielder Abdoul Rahman Rukundo, who has one year left on his contract with the Nyamagabe-based club.

A source close to Amagaju FC confirmed to Times Sport that Rayon Sports has approached the club regarding Rukundo’s transfer and they have in return communicated their asking price.

"They approached us and we asked for Rwf 20 million. Initially, they said they didn’t have that money, and we told them to think about it. Since then, we haven’t received any response from them,” the source said.

Contrary to circulating rumours, Amagaju FC denied that an agreement had been reached between the two clubs for the transfer.

"We allowed them to discuss personal terms with the player, but that doesn’t affect the transfer fee," the source noted.

Burundian international Rukundo joined Amagaju last season and scored 13 goals in the 2023/24 Rwanda Premier League season, just two goals behind joint top scorers Victor Mbaoma of APR FC and Ani Elijah of Bugesera FC.
