Inside Out 2
The 2015 movie "Inside Out" was about the different emotions inside a girl named Riley. We saw Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger navigate her mind, creating a fun and touching story which made it to win the Best Animated Feature Oscar in 2016.
The newly released Disney and Pixar's "Inside Out 2" takes us back into the mind of Riley, now a teenager. Headquarters is suddenly being demolished to make room for something surprising, new emotions, anxiety, envy, boredom and embarrassment.
These new emotions Pixar says they represent the more complex emotions that come with adolescence.
Hit Man
"Hit Man" is a Netflix movie written by Richard Linklater and starring Glen Powell. Recently released in May, it received a 96 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It's based on the true story of Gary Johnson, a professor who posed as a hitman in the 1980s and 1990s, helping police make over 60 arrests after clients hired him to kill someone. Unlike in the movie, the real Gary Johnson did not fall in love with a client.
Powell plays Johnson, an undercover cop in New Orleans who pretends to be a hitman to catch criminals. Things get complicated when he falls for a former client, a desperate woman played by Adria Arjona, who wants to escape her abusive boyfriend.
As this movie is charming and funny, it also includes plot twists.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ is an Australian action movie directed and produced by George Miller. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth as warlord Dementus. The movie was released in May.
The story is about young Furiosa, who is taken from her home, the Green Place of Many Mothers, by a biker gang led by the Dementus. As they travel through the wasteland, they come across a stronghold ruled by Immortan Joe. The two leaders fight for control, and Furiosa faces many challenges as she tries to find her way back home.
This film is a prequel to the 2015 movie "Mad Max: Fury Road," which starred Charlize Theron.
Mother’s Instinct
"Mother’s Instinct" is a psychological thriller about two housewives, Alice and Celine, played by Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway.These best friends and neighbors appear to have perfect lives, living in a traditional setting with their successful husbands and sons who are the same age.
However, their seemingly idyllic existence is shattered by a tragic accident. The incident causes a deep rift between them, leading to a loss of trust and destroying their sisterly bond.
The Fall Guy
Ryan Gosling, known for his role as Ken in "Barbie," returns in "The Fall Guy," an action-comedy romance movie directed by David Leitch, released in May 2024.
Gosling stars as Colt Seavers, a stunt double for movie star Tom Ryder, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. After a stunt goes wrong, Colt leaves his job and his girlfriend, Jody Moreno, played by Emily Blunt.
Jody, now a film director, offers Colt a stunt job on her new movie in Sydney. Colt agrees, hoping to win her back. While performing dangerous stunts, Colt gets involved in a missing-person case linked to Tom Ryder.
The Iron Claw
The movie tells the true story of the Von Erich brothers, who became famous in professional wrestling in the early 1980s. Despite facing both tragedy and success, and under the strict guidance of their father and coach, the brothers aimed for greatness in the world of sports.
The 3 brothers in the movie are portrayed by Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson.
