Rwandan music diva Linda Montez has disclosed she is taking time off the music scene citing her relationship with God as the main cause of the break.
The singer, who is among a few local artistes that participated in the Voice Africa competition, exclusively confirmed the development to The New Times on Tuesday, June 18.

Asked why she made the taught decision amid her rise in Rwanda&039;s music scene, Montez said that making music has negatively affected her relationship with God over the past years, hinting that the break off studio might take years.
"Music was making me compromise my relationship with God. I need time to make sure I understand how to do music, deliver and sell my art without taking away the relationship I have with God,” Montez said in an interview.
Montez's management line, Uncle Empire, had earlier hinted on the matter but never gave clear reasons as to why the artiste is no longer producing music.
During an interview on local broadcaster Isibo, Uncle Austin, the CEO of Uncle Empire, revealed that Montez had requested the record label a break from making music which is the main reason she hasn't dropped fresh music in the last six months.
The announcement has left the singer's fans in a panic mood, with many of them taking to their social media handles to plead with the singer to reconsider her decision.
It’s not the first time Montez has surprised fans about on hold music. In 2020, she dropped out of the Voice Afrique competition and never gave any explanation to her decision.
