GASABO - World Vision Rwanda yesterday donated 10,000 books to Kigali Institute of Education in a bid to promote quality education in higher institutions of learning.

The wide book selection that was presented by Joy Gatera, the World Vision programme manager, cover various subjects including Physics, Economics, Biology, Policing studies and Mathematics, among others.

"As an institution that supports children, we believe that the multiplier effect of these books will reach the younger generation since this institution educates tomorrow’s teachers who must pass on quality information to generations,” Gatera said in an interview. This is the second time World Vision is donating books to the institution.

The first stock was donated in 2007 and it also consisted of a similar consignment.

World Vision is also set to give the same contribution to Mutara Polytechnic and other universities countrywide.

The Vice Rector in charge of Academics at KIE, Dr. James Vuningoma appreciated the continued support by World Vision saying that students and outside researchers are welcome to make use of the institution’s library in Kimironko, Gasabo District.
