Mukura Victory Sports have signed Fred Niyoneze, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2023/2024 season of the Burundian Ligue 1.

The 20-year-old box to box midfielder who was featuring for Vital'O FC had reportedly almost completed talks with Rayon Sport and was on his way to Kigali to finalise the move. However, Mukura hijacked the deal and presented a better offer.

The budding talent signed a two-year deal with the Huye-based club and will be tasked to bring stability into its midfield in the upcoming season.

He becomes the first signing for Mukura VS in the June 2024 window.

Elsewhere, it is reported that midfielder Christophe Bukuru could return to his former club Rutsiro FC.

The newly promoted club are said to be aiming to sign a host of experienced players and he could be one of them.
