Rwanda has reported four new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, May 10. The cases were diagnosed among over 1,040 samples that were tested in the previous 24 hours.

The number brought the total active COVID-19 cases to 144 as opposed to 140 recoveries.

According to the update released by the Ministry of Health daily, Rwanda has recorded a total of 284 COVID-19 cases since March 14. So far, 42,425 samples have been tested.

No deaths have so far been recorded.

Rwanda had been under lockdown since March 21 where only essential services continued to operate.

Recently, the cabinet eased the COVID-19 lockdown, allowing most businesses to resume operations.

A number of activities such as schools, bars, entertainment and social gatherings are still not allowed to open.  

All members of the public are encouraged to continue observing protective measures, including wearing face masks, keeping 2-meter distance between individuals and washing hands on a regular basis.
