The 13th edition of the East African Community (EAC) Armed Forces Field Training Exercise (FTX), also known as Ushirikiano Imara, commenced on Thursday, June 13, in Rwanda.

Taking place at Gako Military Academy in Bugesera District, the drills brought together various East African countries. The objective of the exercise is to promote the EAC integration agenda, by enhancing a joint state of readiness and interoperability of EAC partner States’ Armed Forces, Police, Civilian Components and other stakeholders in responding to complex security challenges.
