A Chinese emergency medical assistance team composed of 12 members arrived in Addis Ababa on Thursday, April 16. 

Ethiopia's Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadesse and the State Minister Foreign Affairs, Redwan Hussien welcomed the delegation at Bole International Airport.

The Chinese carried a banner with the words "Through solidarity, we will prevail” printed on it.

The Chinese medical team also delivered tons of medical supplies donated by the Chinese government to assist Ethiopia’s efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

China and Ethiopia have had a close relationship for 50 years.
