Just when the news is all about the New Coronavirus outbreak, leading to the cancellation of all entertainment events and social gatherings, not all is groom. There is some good news to celebrate.

Rwandan-born film actor Ncuti Gatwa (pictured)has continued to scoop accolades and recognition at the international stage.

The Sex Education actor emerged the best comedy male actor in The Royal Television Society [RTS] awards, a British-based educational charity for the discussion, and analysis of television in all its forms, past, present and future.

The 27-year old actor, who also has Scottish citizenship, won it for his role as Eric Effiong in the Netflix series Sex Education. He took on the role alongside other prominent names such as Alex Murphy & Chris as well as Youssef Kerkour.

Ncuti Gatwa took to Twitter to express his shock on the victory earlier this week on Wednesday, in the wake of a huge success that has followed his role in the Netflix series.

"Humbled. grateful. Thank you @RTS_media,” Gatwa tweeted.

The actor got huge acclaim for his role in the "Sex education” series which debuted in January 2019. Born in Rwanda on October 16, 1992, Gatwa has not lost touch with his Rwandan roots, maintaining the Rwandan flag alongside the Scottish one on his profile.

Last year he travelled back home for holiday sharing his experience of his stay in Rwanda on social media, reconnecting with his country of birth.
