Rwanda 81-52 Kenya

Point guard Dylan Lebson Kayijuka put up a top performance as his game-high 20 points powered Rwanda to a convincing 81-52 victory over Kenya on Sunday at the U-18 FIBA Africa Zone V qualifiers.

Taking place in Kampala, Uganda, the zone 5 qualifying competition attracted four countries namely Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania who are battling out for a ticket to the FIBA U-18 continental tournament.

Yves Murenzi’s boys were off to a bright start to the tournament as they proved too strong for ‘hapless’ Kenya to beat.

Rwanda bossed the game from the very beginning, winning the first quarter 21-6, before Kenya bounced back to claim the second one 19-15 but it was the former who were still leading at half time.
