ICC U-19 W/Cup Qualifiers
Swaziland 262/7
Rwanda 129/10
Rwanda lost by 133 runs

Rwanda’s cricket teams need to find a remedy to their batting woes if they are to challenge top cricketing nations in future International Cricket Council (ICC) Affiliates tournaments.

The U-19 cricketers suffered their fourth defeat in the ICC U-19 World Cup qualifiers in Mozambique after Wednesday’s 133-run defeat against Swaziland.

Swaziland posted 262 runs for the loss of seven wickets. It was by far the highest total of the tournament and Rwanda had a big mountain to climb.

Unfortunately, the East Africans collapsed at 129. The defeat means that Rwanda finish 5th.

Sierra Leone on the other hand booked the lone slot at stake for the final qualifiers set for next month in Zambia.

Sierra Leone and Ghana tied on nine points but the former had a superior net run-rate.

In Zambia, Sierra Leone will face tougher challengers in Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Namibia and the hosts among others.

The 2010 U-19 World Cup will be staged in Nairobi, Kenya.
