Renowned Rwandan producer born Fred Robinson Mugisha, known for his studio routines as Element Eleeeh, is taking a bold step in his musical journey.

Days after releasing his brand new song ‘MiLELE,’ the 24-year-old, who built a name for himself in music production, on June 7 announced that he is now dedicating himself fully into a singing.

According to the producer, singing was initially his hobby but his perspective has shifted ‘dramatically,’ after just three releases.

"When I released 'Kashe,' I was just doing it for fun, with my second song, 'Fou de Toi,' I started taking it a bit more seriously. But now, with 'MiLELE,' I broke boundaries giving it my all,” he said.

Element said that he invested significantly in ‘MiLELE,’ spending over Rwf 30 million on its production.

During the making the track, he collaborated with renowned professionals where he consulted UK-based producer Madebeats for mixing and Bob Pro for mastering.

The video was directed by Omoke, a ‘top’ Kenyan director.

"This is because I want to take it (singing) seriously because I realized that it’s career that can benefit me more than what I am doing right now,” he said.

Element also said ‘MiLELE’ is his first song in the Afro Gako style, a genre he spent four years preparing working on. Despite initial challenges, he has now successfully created and promoted it and he wants that it achieves a global appeal.

"My goal is to push Afro Gako to the international stage. I came up with this idea because I wanted to promote the Rwandan culture globally and that was the only way to do it,” he said.

"And using this genre in my song is aimed at encouraging and inspiring other artistes so that they can give it a shot.”

Besides working on his own projects, Element is also teaming up with other artistes including 1:55AM fellows Bruce Melody and Kenny Sol, Kevin Kade, DJ Maphorisa, and Adekunle Gold on various music projects.
