Ibrahim Cyusa, a budding traditional singer and dancer, and his Inkera traditional dance troupe on Wednesday, March 4, released a new song titled "Imparamba", ahead of their upcoming maiden European tour this month.

Cyusa announced their upcoming tour last month.

"You see, before going to entertain our European fans I had to bring them something new,” he told The New Times on Wednesday. 

He said the troupe will depart Kigali for Europe next Thursday, March 12.

They will first perform in Belgium, then head to the Netherlands, followed by Switzerland, then France, and eventually return to Belgium where their tour will end. 

"My new song is a remix of a very old Rwandan traditional songs by several famous performers, such as Amasimbi n'amakombe and the great performer Rugamba Cyprien.”

The artiste noted that early last year, he performed unaccompanied in the Netherlands and Belgium, but this time, he will travel with his Inkera troupe.

During their upcoming tour, the group plans to perform in four countries – the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and France, for three weeks.

While in Europe, Cyusa is looking forward to meeting with his half-brother, Rwandan-born Belgian star, Stromae– born, Paul Van Haver, who is expected to attend at least one of their concerts if all goes according to plan.

His single, a remix "Muhoza wanjye” dropped on December 5, last year, is still making waves.

Eight years ago, the singer graduated from the then National University of Rwanda, in Huye, with an accounting degree.

But because of his passion for Gakondo music, he later quit his full time job at a local bank where he worked as an accountant and opted to advance his singing career.
