DANY Usengimana scored a 13th minute lone goal as APR beat Police at Kigali Stadium on Wednesday to extend their lead to seven points at the top of the Rwanda Premier League table.
With the victory, unbeaten APR have now picked 51 points from 21 matches, followed by defending champions Rayon Sports who came from behind to see off Etincelles 2-1 at Umuganda Stadium.
Forwards Maxime Sekamana and Ernest Sugira scored in the 78th and 81st minute to power the Blues to a difficult away victory after the hosts had opened the scoring early in the first period through Ibrahim Itangishaka.
It was Andre Casa Mbungo’s first competitive match since his appointment as Rayon Sports’ head coach last week.
Police, at 43 points, have now dropped to third.
In other matches, Musanze overcame Sunrise 2-1 at Nyagatare Stadium, while Marines upset Bugesera 1-0 at Bugesera Stadium.
