On top attracting golfers from the region, Kigali Golf Club has confirmed that golfers from as far as South Africa have made their way to Kigali, Rwanda ahead of this year’s MTN golf tournament that swings into action this Saturday at Nyarutarama.
Close to eight golfers from Ericsson-South Africa are expected to contend for the day’s coveted first prize alongside local golfers and other from the region.
According to the event’s official sponsors MTN, a variety of prizes are at stake for the winners of the two-day event.
Asked about the condition of the course, the club captain Rajan Tiwari said that it was in excellent condition after the rains.
"After the rains, the course looks perfect. We expect a tough contest out there though because the course will be challenging. It will be a little longer than usual because of the wetness,” Tiwari said.
MTN is the sole sponsor of this year’s edition after Ericsson’s pull out sighting the tournament’s bad timing.
Like previous editions, the event is open to amateur golfers and has stroke play as the mode of play.
