I would like to thank the management of Rwanda Revenue Authority for their continuous effort towards educating the taxpayers. Personally, I believe that this effort is what enables the tax body to beat set deadlines annually.

For those of us out there, who still believe that all this good work comes out of "milking” the tax payers as many say, it is high time we believed that it would be impossible if RRA officials, did not take time to educate the tax payers about tax issues.

When these officials visited Kicukiro recently, many people were happy that they could finally know what actual amount of tax they should be paying.

Results even showed that many traders knew nothing about taxation, implying that most tax evaders were taught how to go about it. These measures enable our Authority to beat deadlines hence facilitating development.

In this regard therefore, I would like to thank RRA for their tax education policy. More of these trainings however, should be taken further in all provinces of Rwanda. This will help increase taxes collected.
