RUTSIRO — The Rutsiro district Vice Mayor in charge of Finance and Economy, Jean Damascene Nsanzinfura, has said the district has committed to double this year’s agricultural production.

In an interview last week, Nsanzinfura, disclosed that Rutsiro has recently emerged the best in the past years performance contracts, which inspires them to work harder in order to remain at the top.

‘We have been leading the Western Province in performance contracts in the last two years. We have opted to put more efforts in order to retain our success through improved economic activity especially agriculture,’ he said. He added that this has been successful through training sessions given to farmers in different agricultural fields.

‘We trained our farmers on the use of fertilisers to increase on their production and this has exhibited a great change. We want to help them gain more skills and lift up their well being,’ he said.
