Corneille Rwamahe Mwuzuro, a 20-year-old promising poet, released his maiden album dubbed ‘2004’ on June 02.
The poet, known by many as Mwuzuro, said that his choice of naming his album ‘2004’ was inspired by the year when he was born and this serves as the ‘foundation’ of his life.

"This album holds the promise of delivering a deeply resonant message about the hustle of upcoming artistes, young talents that are not recognised, and personal emotions," the young poet told The New Times.
"The time I spent working on my poems (since 2022), words used and content delivery, mainly the questioning scenarios, is what sets my poetry aside and makes it more interesting,” he added.
Mwuzuro saw his breakthrough in end 2022 after he was recognized among outstanding contestants in Art Rwanda Ubuhanzi.
The poet caught the attention of many thanks to his poem Mirongo Icyenda.
He now has an album of 11 poems of which two are collaborations with other a fellow poet and a videographer. Some have been out for quite some time while very few other poems are brand new.

In '2004’ album, Mwuzuro delves into reflection of personal history for a better future plan. His words resonate with authenticity and sincerity, inviting listeners to contemplate their own journey and aspirations.
"Through '2004,' I want to encourage promoters and people in general to give space to upcoming artistes because they are able and once given a platform their talents can do wonders,” he said.
Embarking on his own album has long been a dream for Mwuzuro who witnessed the genuine interest of people in his poems and this always drove his passion for sharing more.
However, he said, the financial aspect remained a significant barrier for hime.
"Now is the right opportunity aligning, I see this as the perfect moment to turn my dream into reality. Moreover, through my poetry, I aim to not only fulfill my creative aspirations but also contribute to the cultural and artistic development of my country,” he said.
The 11 poems comprising the album include ‘Ese Ndabeshye?,’ ‘Ibirenze Amagambo (Ibaze)’ ‘Ndakwanga,’ ‘Ndagukunda,’ ‘Nta Mahitamo,’ ‘Imvune z'Abahanzi (Rumeza),’ ‘Ndashaka Urukundo,’ ‘Ayabakobwa (Oooooh),’ ‘Undi Ngewe,’ ‘Mirongo Icyenda’ ‘Ibaruwa’ and ‘2004’ the album cover.
