Rwandan international Hamad Katauti Ndikumana has successfully recovered from a troublesome back injury sustained last month in the Cyprus Premier league.

Through an e-mail message to Times Sport, the AC Omonio defender confirmed yesterday that he has fully recovered and he has started full training with the first team.

In confirming his full recuperation, the former Amavubi Stars captain also expressed confidence of a good performance in the third round opener of the 2010 World/Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Algeria on March 28 in Kigali.

"I just had back pains after a league match last month and I took some days off to rest and undergo medications.
"But I am now fit and happy that I will play with full strength and determination for Rwanda against Algeria.

I’m focused and believe that we will reach CAN finals in whatsoever,” Ndikumana said.

The veteran central defender will join the Amavubi Camp when they regroup for Algeria mid this month. Other professional summoned in addition to Ndikumana include; Olivier Karekezi (Ham Kam), Said Abedi Makasi (Difaa El Jadida), Henri Munyaneza (Germinal Beerschot), Jimmy Mulisa (KSV Roeselare) and Saddou Boubakary (Libya).

Karekezi is joint top scorer with Abedi for Rwanda in the qualifiers with three goals each and is the man expected to inspire Amavubi Stars to World Cup and the African Cup of Nations glory.

Amavubi will start residential training March 8 to prepare for the Algeria tie.

Rwanda is drawn alongside Algeria, Egypt and Zambia in Group C of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
