Two Rwandan media personalities, Makeda Mahadeo and Christelle Kabagire have been nominated for East Africa’s Most Stylish Female Host of the Year, at the East Africa Fashion Awards.
The event is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania next month.
Makeda is a Kigali-based CNBC Africa journalist, media personality, deejay and emcee, while Christelle is known for her fashion show ‘In Style’, which airs on Rwanda Television every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Commenting on the nomination, Christelle said: "This nomination is a big deal for me, because it’s a proof that my show is not only watched in Rwanda, but also in the region. I’m so glad and excited to see people recognising my work.”

Also nominated are Amina Abdi Rabar (Kenya), as well as Uganda’s Malaika Tenshi, Anita Fabiola and Miss Deedan, among others.
The event, in its first edition, seeks to recognise the most outstanding achievements of individuals and brands that have contributed to the growth of the fashion industry in East Africa.
The voting process for the awards begins tomorrow, February 19 and closes on March 12.
