Recently, I read in your daily that the Gender ministry is set to educate the public about gender based violence as a means of lowering the rate at which the vice is committed.
I must commend government for this move.
While we go on and on about how to curb these crimes, there are hundreds or even thousands out there, especially in the villages, who do not know how to identify GBV, where to report it or even the repercussions of gender based violence.
It is very vital to engage the public in GBV discussions and also to help every citizen to understand their rights so they can enjoy them fully.
