RAYON SPORT’S Jean Baptist Kayiranga has warned rivals Atraco and APR that the Blues still have a chance of scathing the title from the two front runners, thanks to a 1-0 win over bitter rivals APR on the weekend.

The win saw Rayon Sport hold on the third spot in the league with 32 points, one point behind APR and two points adrift of champions Atraco who lead the standings.

Kayiranga said, "I’m realistic we will win the title if we win all our games. We have an advantage because APR still have to play Atraco,”

"Atraco are in a good position but as long as we defeat them in the fixture that will pit us with them, then we will be in for the title,” Kayiranga said.

The Blues stunned APR 1-0 on the fifteenth day of the national league in what has now become Rwanda’s ‘El Classico’ over the weekend at Amahoro stadium.

Theoneste Muhayimana came off the bench for Honore Kabongo to score the winning on 55th as the Blues put on a much spirited fight against their traditional archrivals and record nine-time league champions.

Atraco returned back to the summit of the league standings after whipping Electrogaz 2-0 at Nyamirambo.

Jean Lomami and Johnson Bagoole were on target for Sam Timbe’s side to keep their second title hopes on track.

Lomami’s 13th goal of the season moves him five goals ahead of his closest rival and teammate Hamisi Kitagenda for the league top scorer’s accolade.
