Following a life threatening prognosis, contemporary gospel musician Patrick Cyuzuzo, also known as SEE Muzik, was drawn even closer to God when, despite the circumstances, he had faith and was proven correct.
This has served as an inspiration to constantly write gospel songs including his latest release ‘Remind Me’ to encourage others to never lose faith and live a Christian-centered life.
The singer's profound connection with music took root during his formative years, ultimately flourishing into a remarkable career. From a tender age of six, he graced the stage at Sunday school choir and his early exposure to the limelight proved instrumental in shaping SEE's musical path, a journey that unfolded alongside his involvement in local traditional dance groups.
It was in 2009 when his musical journey commenced, when he was selected to join a children's choir ‘Asante Children’s Choir’ with a mission to raise awareness about poverty and illiteracy in Africa. This led to a series of tours across the United States with performances in Texas, California, Washington, Oregon and Arizona among others.
During his high school days in 2016, SEE Muzik officially ventured into a solo recording with the release of his maiden single ‘Ubumwe’. His musical aspirations took a new turn at the age of 19 when he adopted the moniker "SEE”, a name that carries profound symbolism.
Having undergone a series of eye treatments when a doctor delivered the unsettling news that he might lose his vision with no available cure, despite this daunting prognosis, SEE Muzik's unwavering faith in God guided him through the adversity, solidifying his belief in God as a Christian.
He has over the years dedicated himself to the transformation of youth, mental health advocacy and the nurturing of a Christian-centered generation.
"I firmly contend that by addressing the spiritual and mental well-being of young people, a brighter future can be assured. My music message underscores the importance of shifting our perspective towards positivity, viewing life through the lens of Christ Jesus,” the musician told The New Times.
Remind Me
The inspiration behind SEE Muzik’s new track "Remind Me" came from an old melody, which struck him deeply during a prayer session on January 22, 2022. This melody reminded the singer of the ease with which people can forget their journey and lose sense of direction.
A spontaneous TikTok video of this melody resonated with him, eventually leading to the creation of this original song.
Drawing from his personal story, ‘Remind Me’ highlights how easily people forget heavenly blessings they have received once their prayers are answered. An example, in the song, is the Israelites' experience in Exodus 16:2-3, where they regretted leaving Egypt despite God's miraculous deliverance.
Now available on all music platforms, the song produced by Bdm was directed by Enock Zera, while mixing and mastering was T Van’s work and Nicolas Umutware as the colorist.
