CHAMPIONS APR kicked off the new season on a bright note with an impressive 3-1 win over Musanze in the national women football league played yesterday at Kicukiro grounds.

Musanze stunned the hosts to score earlier five minutes after recess thanks to a brilliant and well taken free kick by Jackie Nabaana.

Aime Flora equalized five minutes later after a good combination with Anatoli Nirere to put the military side on level.

It didn’t last long as the duo made another fantastic make-up that resulted into Flora’s second goal of the game on 60th minutes to give APR maximum points.

However, the military side was playing under pressure as they faced challenge from Rayon Sport fans that supported Musanze all the way through.

This comes after their brothers (APR Men team) lost 0-1 to Rayon Sport in the Men’s national football league on Saturday.

Elsewhere, rivals Rayon Sport also record a win on the first day as they defeated Intare 1-0 at Rugunga grounds while Rubavu thrashed Bugesera 5-0 in Gisenyi.

AS Kigali played host Inyemera to a 1-all draw and La Charite earned maximum points with three goals after Remera failed to show up for the scheduled fixture at Remera grounds.
