Today, Rwandans will gather in their respective villages to pay homage to heroes of different times in the country’s history who died in service of their country. The day will be marked under the theme, "Our Heroism, our Dignity,” and the same theme is expected to be maintained for years to come as the country seeks to instill heroic values among citizens.
At the national level, leaders are expected to gather at the National Heroes’ Mausoleum in Remera to lay wreaths in honour of national heroes.
