JULES Ulimwengu and Michael Sarpong will 'soon' start playing for Rayon Sports again, the club has announced.
The two strikers played a pivotal role as the Blues romped to their ninth league title last season.
Ulimwengu, who scored 30 goals for Rayon in all competitions in a spell of ten months, has been with Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic in the Chinese second tier since October 2019 while Ghanaian frontman Sarpong joined Changchun Yatai, also in China's second division league, last month.
"All sports activities in China have been stopped because of the coronavirus crisis, that is (mainly) why they are returning," Rayon Sports said in a statement on Wednesday evening.
"They will play for us in the league and Peace Cup until the end of the current season."
With the return of the duo, joining Yannick Bizimana who has established himself as one of the league's most prolific strikers, it leaves interim coach Alain Kirasa with a tough task to decide whether he will drop one on the bench or change his 4-4-2 formation to accommodate three strikers.
By press time Wednesday, Rayon were yet to determine if the duo will be part of the squad that will face second division side Intare in their first round tie of the Peace Cup next week, either on February 4 or 5.
After 18 matches into the 2019-20 Rwanda Premier League, Rayon are second with 38 points, four adrift of leaders APR.
